Sony has just released an update for PlayStation 4 that promises to be quite practical and useful for users of Apple devices. The new version of the system allows using “Remote Play” in the iOS, which means that you can control the console from your iPhone or iPad.
The upgrade to version 6.50 has finally support Remote Play to iOS, something that until now was limited to Android devices (in addition to the portable console PlayStation Vita, place where the function was born years ago). For this, they have also launched a new application in the iOS App Store called PS4 Remote Play, which you can download from this link.
The app is available for devices with operating system version iOS 12.1 or higher, and only works through a WiFi network. Sony recommends using an iPhone 7, a sixth generation iPad and a second generation iPad Pro, or newer devices, to access Remote Play. The function allows to control the console completely, although unfortunately it does not have support for DualShock 4 controls. [Via Polygon ]
